I've loved each book in this series, and this one is no exception. I read this the day before my birthday, and it was a wonderful gift to myself. :-)
Clara shows up in Hudson Valley to revamp the Bryant Mountain House. She already has connections there, but when she arrives, it's undercover and on the deep down-low. Clara doesn't stay that way for long, and she finds out that there's some conflict between the Father and Son owners of the Hotel.
Speaking of the owner... Archie is the Son and the de-facto owner of the Bryant Mountain House. He's really big on tradition. Like - REALLY big. Archie doesn't want to change anything, because y'know, tradition. The hotel is full of antiques, which are lovely - until you're talking about uncomfortable beds, old menus, and high prices. This doesn't make for an easy path for change.
