Just an Illusion - The B Side

Just an Illusion - The B Side - D. Kelly I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for an unbiased review.

Okay Dee, seriously? SERIOUSLY??!?

I had to wait a few days to write my review because ALL THE FEELS!

No, this is not a bad thing, and no, I do not hate you Dee. Although... No, no, I don't. *wink*

Okay, let's get into my review.

You've read [b:Just an Illusion - Side A|23481130|Just an Illusion - Side A (The Illusion, #1)|D. Kelly|http://images.gr-assets.com/books/1476325232s/23481130.jpg|43071992] I presume, because if you haven't yet, you need to turn around, get that one, then come back here when you're done. We'll wait. For those of you that have made it to the second part of our program, CONGRATULATIONS! The gang is back and they've had a bit of a "day".

Folks, beware of crazy stalkers. That's all I have to say about that. And while there's plenty to be relieved about, there's also some stuff that comes out of the cliffhanger event that sticks with our band of merry men and ladies. Stuff that doesn't make for pleasant bedfellows.

Throughout this book we also get the present-day Mel, who is now actively writing - although which story she's telling is still a bit of a mystery. Light is shed onto our aching lead actress little by little until a clearer picture emerges. She's still cloaked in the shadows, but as her writer's block clears, so does our vision of her.

While there are lingering issues that continue on from the very start of "The B-Side," the events go into overdrive in the last third of the book. My heart was pounding and my jaw slackened... and then I wanted to throw things. Because yes Virginia, there is a third book. And to make it hurt even worse, it's not coming until June. JUNE?! amirite?

Okay, okay, I'm calm again. This is a good thing. Because in some cases - this one included - the author knows best. And Dee knew that this story needed more telling. So she sat back down to write more, and that's what we're going to get in June. And you know what? I can't wait. No - strike that, reverse it. I can wait, because it's worth waiting for.
